Beyond the Eyes&#8221;<\/strong>, MUSEC\u2019s new contemporary art project dedicated to the Japanese artist \u2013 who is the subject of her first solo exhibition in Europe \u2013 opens to the public on <strong>Thursday 23 July<\/strong> at Villa Malpensata. On display are around thirty works created between 2012 and 2026, some of which were conceived specifically for the exhibition in Lugano. Painting in a state of semi-trance, Miwa Komatsu opens gateways to ancestral and otherworldly dimensions, evoking, in a whirlwind of colours, intense figures drawn from Japanese mythology, folklore and spiritual tradition.
