‘TRAME. Masterpieces of Textile Art. From Bali to Timor’, an exhibition dedicated to the extraordinary textile traditions of Eastern Indonesia, opens to the public on Thursday 11 June at Villa Malpensata. The exhibition brings together two of the world’s most important collections in the field – the Breguet and Zuellig Collections – presenting around a hundred works from nearly thirty islands, including Bali, Timor, the Lesser Sunda Islands and the Southern Moluccas. Through ceremonial textiles, ikats and artefacts of exceptional quality, the exhibition explores one of Asia’s most refined and complex artistic traditions, where technical mastery, symbolism and aesthetic exploration intertwine with stories of exchange, ritual and social relations.
The exhibition runs until Sunday 25 October 2026.
